In this video, you’ll learn how to upload a custom script to the Script Repository in N‑central and run that script on an endpoint from the Assets View. N‑central includes a Script Repository that allows users to store custom scripts and make them available for use. This demonstration focuses on how a script is added to the Script Repository, how access is granted, and how the script is run against a selected device. You’ll also see where script executions appear and how execution results can be reviewed. The video shows what information is required when uploading a script, including the script name, description, operating system, script type, and execution timeout. It also introduces script parameters and explains where parameters can be defined, even though no parameters are added in this example. By the end of this video, you can expect to understand how scripts move from the Script Repository to execution on an endpoint, and where to review the outcome of a script run within N‑central. In this module, you’ll learn how the Script Repository works in N‑central and how it is used to manage custom scripts within the product. N‑central includes a Script Repository that allows users to upload custom scripts and make them available for use. This video provides an overview of the Script Repository, including what it is used for and how it supports running scripts on demand for specific endpoints. You’ll also learn what types of scripts can be added, what requirements apply to those scripts, and how script output can be reviewed from the Assets View. The video explains the supported scripting languages, file size limitations, and the types of parameters that scripts can use. It also covers the permissions required to access the Script Repository and highlights the importance of testing scripts in a non‑production environment before running them on critical endpoints. By the end of this video, you can expect to have a clear understanding of the purpose of the Script Repository in N‑central, what it allows you to do, and the considerations to keep in mind when working with custom scripts. This video demonstrates how to create a dynamic tag in N‑sight RMM. N‑sight RMM is N‑able’s remote monitoring and management platform used by IT teams and managed service providers to monitor, support, and manage devices across customer environments. Dynamic tags automatically classify devices based on defined filter criteria, helping users reduce manual work and keep asset organization consistent and up to date. In this demonstration, we will create a dynamic tag. Log in with SSO and click Tag Management. Click Add tag and select Dynamic tag. Dynamic tags are automatically applied to endpoints that match filter criteria. Enter the Tag name and optional Description. In this example, the tag identifies devices with a specific Windows OS install date range. Entering a Category is optional and may be considered in the overall tag management strategy. Click Next. Assign the Tag access. Select Organization, Customer, or Site as the search categories. Search for the target organization by entering a term and clicking Search. Access groups are hierarchical, so the selected group and all levels beneath it will be included in the tag. Click on the search results to include them and review the Tag Access selection. Click Next. Filters identify the assets to tag. Click Create Filter. Click the plus sign and select Add Condition or Add Group. In this example, Add Condition is used. The filter builder defaults to the OS category. Since this filter is for a specific OS, keep the default and enter Windows as the value. Click Apply. To add additional criteria, click the plus sign again. Add filter values for OS install dates within a specific year. Click Apply. The filter appears at the top and displays devices that match the criteria. Click Next. Review the summary and click Confirm to apply the dynamic tag. Click Done to return to the Tag Management view. To view devices that meet the tag criteria, go to the Assets view. Dynamic tags shown in purple automatically apply to assets matching the filter. This video demonstrates how to create and assign a static tag in N‑sight RMM. N‑sight RMM is N‑able’s remote monitoring and management platform designed to help IT teams and managed service providers monitor, support, and manage customer devices. Tag Management allows you to organize assets by applying custom labels, making it easier to filter, identify, and group devices based on criteria meaningful to your environment. In this demonstration, we will create and assign a static tag. Static tags are manually created and stay attached to an asset until intentionally removed. Log in with SSO and click Tag Management. Click Static tag. Enter the Tag name and optional Description. Entering a Category is optional and may be considered as part of your overall tag management strategy. Click Next. Assign the tag access. Search for the target organization by entering a term and clicking Search. By default, Organization, Customer, and Site are selected. Access groups are hierarchical, meaning the selected group and all levels beneath it will be included in the tag access. Click Next. Review the Summary, and click Confirm and then Done. The tag appears in the Tag Management view and can be assigned to assets. To edit or delete a tag, click on the Actions menu. To assign the tag to an asset, go to the Assets view. On the device row, click Actions and select Manage Tags. Select the tag, move it to the Assigned column, and click Apply. Hover over the number in the Tags column to view assigned tags, or enter a tag name in the top row to filter for a specific tag. Tag Management can be part of a comprehensive asset management strategy. You may create tag categories to group and filter tags, then create tags for each category. For example, you may create a category for Service Level with tags such as Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. You may also create a category for Customer Devices with tags such as Check In Kiosk, Patient Intake Tablet, and KidZone Patient Tablet.
